Professor Simon Mitchell
Anaesthesiologist
Professor Mitchell, is an anaesthesiologist and diving physician at the University of Auckland. He is an international expert in decompression sickness and air embolism. He spoke about the significant challenges of the rescue of the young boys in the Thai cave rescue.

John Malcolmson
Retired GP and Fibonacci Enthusiast
John has a whimsical interest in and appreciation for the influence of the Italian mathematician, Fibonacci, from the Middle Ages and his influence on architecture, art, finance and the natural sciences, which can be seen in the everyday world around us.

Mark is one of NZ’s leading factual film makers. He has produced over. 120 hours of documentary film which has screened in NZ, Australia, USA, UK and Europe. This includes documentaries on the Polkinghorne case, Dark Tourists, Why Are We Fat? And The Hard Stuff.

Jenny Lynch was the Editor of Women’s Weekly, has been a journalist for various media outlets as a theatre critic, fashion writer, columnist and layout editor. She has authored four non fiction books. Her talk was on early 20th century magazine advertising it was entitled: Luscious Lips, Lazy Liver and Medicinal Gin.

Tenby Powell
Strategist & Humanitarian
Tenby Powell set up Kiwi KARE (Kiwi Aid and Refugee Evacuation), a highly respected “last mile” humanitarian and medical aid organisation that operates in the Red Zones of Ukraine. Tenby applies his experience from private and public sector and time in the military to bring ambulances to where they are needed and to evacuate those who need this.
